Social Responsibility

So often we get blessings of work and the opportunity to pass on the blessings to others, yet how often do we really follow through?  Here are a few things that I’m doing to pass along the blessings:

Re-Think Art

Donated three large (and heavy) boxes of art supplies and materials to a Houston, Texas middle school. Still more to sort through and donate, but will give them to another school, to spread the materials around.

Production Services

I have always believed in going the extra mile in the quality of delivery of my work. Sometimes there is recognition, but the fulfillment of knowing that more was delivered than what was required, means so much more.

Makeup for Movies

My makeup rate is often discounted for advocacy related nonprofits organizations and their related productions and to help low budget filmmakers achieve a higher quality on their productions..

Film Expo Texas

Despite the already low admission fee, as part of its community outreach, Film Expo Texas, when it is held, offers expo attendance scholarships to nonprofit organizations for distribution to those who would normally be unable to attend.

Dominion Films

We are developing

Periodically, Dominion Films produces a PSA (public service announcement) that supports an aspect of social service (the arts, homelessness, recycling, advocacy and more).

In 2014, my 1979 BMW 320i sedan was donated to the Houston Area Women’s Center. The vintage Bimmer was the repair star of the pilot episode of the Do-It-Yourself Car Show series, produced by Dominion Films, and aired on Comcast, Sudden Link and Phonoscope. The car was sold and the proceeds went to the organization.

Advocacy

I am an advocate for the protection of women and children from abuse, neglect and domestic violence. As a long ago survivor of domestic violence, I am committed to helping ensure the protection of those who have been abused, as well as those who are at risk.
