MINISTRY

As a Christian ordained minister (2017), I aim for a balance between a comfortable spiritual grounding and the secular nature of the motion picture industry. This is accomplished by incorporating and sharing common messages that everyone within the arts community can relate to, regardless of position, religion or denomination. My new online ministry is Church for the Arts. As a Justice of the Peace, I can perform weddings, baptisms, christenings, home blessings, last rites and have a special session designed to help couples get to know each other better.

ABOUT ABIIBA

A Hyphenate in the Arts

Hyphenate - "One who performs more than one job or function." ------The Free Dictionary

“My siblings and I grew up in a family where reading, the arts, education and entrepreneurship gave us the incentive to pursue our various interests. Whenever we wondered about a word or phrase, we were pointed to a dictionary or the set of Encyclopedia Brittanica. For me, this sparked a love of research and a hunger for knowledge. Thanks Mom and Dad!

At around eleven years old, my father bought a Bell and Howell movie projector and taught me to operate it. Very soon thereafter, my first business venture was launched - showing movies (umm cartoons) on our living room wall for a nickel on weekends. It’s fair to say that my dad, Betty Boop and Mister Magoo sparked my interest in the movie business....

My interests are diverse, yet they are all driven by my passion for sharing skills, insights and resources, using niche approaches and often wearing multiple hats. Yep, I'm a hyphenate and proud of it."
